Founded by Christine Powell in 2009, Search Strategy Marketing (SSM) began as a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and content marketing company aimed at helping small businesses get to Pg. 1 of Google. SSM enjoyed success during its first few years for customers in a variety of industries. Despite SSM’s early success, Christine knew that getting clients ranked was simply not enough. Clients were looking for a more unified approach -- one that resulted not only in visits, but in leads and sales. The business needed to grow and transform to be able to address each phase of the buyer’s journey.
In January 2013, Matthew Penchuk joined SSM as a partner. Together Christine and Matt decided to formally adopt the Inbound Marketing methodology and become a HubSpot Certified Partners. In May 2014, Christine Powell became Christine Penchuk. In November of 2015, SSM became recognized as a HubSpot Silver Tier partner. SSM continues to grow, adding to its team and helping more clients, in multiple industries, reach their business goals.
